These five $5 meals for fall are perfect for anyone who wants to save money on groceries!  Whip up these cozy, hearty meals and warm up your fall, without spending your whole grocery budget!

Sweet and Sour Pork Stir Fry and Rice in White Bowl. Butternut Squash Pasta topped with Sage in White Bowl. Coconut Curry Carrot Soup topped with Cilantro in Black Bowls. Bacon and Green Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwiches in Cart Iron Frying Pan. Sweet Potato and Black Bean Chili in Black Bowls.

This post is a continuation of our $5 Meals series, which we started with Five $5 Meals for Summer.

Update: I’ve now down Five $5 Meals for Winter and Five $ Meals for Spring too!

In that post I explain that I’ve challenged myself to come up with five $5 meals for each season.  At times it has been tough!

I feel like it’s such a good eye opener for me, in terms of how difficult it can be to feed a family.  This is especially true if you have a large family, or live somewhere were groceries are really expensive.

Fall was a little easier (I think the cheapness of root vegetables at this time of year helped!).  Even though it can be a challenge, I really love this experiment!

Like I said in my summer post, there are so many reasons why you might want to save money on groceries.

Maybe times are tight and you need to stretch things a little farther.  Or maybe you are trying to save money for a down payment on a house, or a wedding, or a trip!  Whatever reason, if you can eat delicious food for less, why not go for it!?!

Again, I’ve paid attention to sales, seasonally cheap produce, and sometimes even what I (and you!) can easily grow (like herbs – I’m not recommending you sow your own potatoes or anything – although it’s great if you do!).

Like I said before, this is what you should be doing too.  All of the time.  This change of habits is really the biggest way you’ll save money on groceries, in the long run.

I hope you enjoy the latest installment of the $5 Meals e-book.  Click here to download it!

Stay tuned for the winter chapter in a few months! 🙂
