I used to resist making salad dressings.

Even though I was constantly cooking from scratch and trying to feed myself and my family ‘real food’ I still bought salad dressings.  To be honest, I still do buy some.

But I am going to make it a real point to make them myself as often as I can.  Because, guys, this took less than five minutes to make.  In fact it probably took less than two minutes.  So really, what’s stopping me?!?!

Be sure to try this with our Easy Winter Salad for a perfect pairing!

Ingredients for Simple Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette

Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette in Blender.

Place 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup in a small blender.  Pulse to combine.  You could also do this with a whisk in a small bowl if you want.

Add oil a few tablespoons at a time and pulse to combine.  Most recipes ask you to pour it in while the machine is running (through the pour hole at the top) and if this works for you that’s great.

However, I’ve always found it hard to do that with my small blender without making a big mess.  If you’re using a bowl and whisk, think of this step as a mini arm workout :).
