You should use whole milk or a milk with more fat to make this as creamy as possible

STEP 3 Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and milk and egg mixture

When you heat this mixture stir often with a whisk so that it doesn't stick to the bottom or burn

STEP 4 Add vanilla, butter and flaked coconut, whisk and set aside

Whisk this coconut pudding occasionally as it cools so a skin doesn't form
